May be our last fishing trip to the lake this season, depending upon the weather. Today was supposed to be very windy...but we lucked out and the wind was probably less than 15 mph. We first tied on several locations where submerged trees were located in a lake cove. Only caught one keeper there.
So...we headed back to our old favorite spot...up close to the concrete pier under a bridge...and then the fun began. Wasn't long till we ended up with nine keeper's, all over 9", and a couple that were close to 11".
Just in case this was our last trip to the lake this season I ran some gasoline mixed with fuel stabilizer/extender through the boat engine and let it run till the carburetor was empty. If I get lucky and make another trip there I'll do it again.
BTW, this was the week I gave all of the fish to my buddy, Glen. We take turns keeping whatever we catch.
Great pictures Ox..Thanks for posting them..
Looks like you two fellers had a good day at the lake. I just helped the farmer put his boat away the other day around here and asked him why...LOL...no ice and just a touch of snow has been all.. Why i'll bet he would still have at least a month of fishing...
I am going to show him your pictures and maybe he will stick her on the lake a few more weeks...Nice catch buddy....Earl
Good lookin fish there Ox, glad you guys had a good time. Now its time for me to lay back down for an hour and see if I can't catch that in sleep haha. I can't wait to go ice-fishin this year. Hopefully its not so damn cold that its miserable again.

Took these pictures today (11.7.09) while I fished by myself.
1st picture: Shows how sunny and bright the day was...and some of my fishing "junk"
2nd picture: Shows my fish finder which indicates the water depth, water temperature, and shows where the fish are located. (Even though they were in the window...they wouldn't bite today)(ha)
3rd picture: A guy riding a jet ski under the bridge where I was fishing...with water temperatue around 56 degrees F...He's gotta be nuts!
Only caught two keeper crappie today...but that was more fun than staying home and just-a-wish'in I was a-fish'in.
Next week I'll be deer hunting so I'll be switching gears with my hobbies.
I have heard of crappie before, seems the dry riverbed has plugged my ears and I just don't remember much about fishing any more, out here in the desert of Dodge.
