let us know how she shoots when you get your rings, and are able to take her out to the range. i have looke at the x-bolts just couldn't get the feal for the looks, but nothing against the gun i am just a little more in to tradational looking guns, the only smi- modern gun i own is sako a7 and my brother that worked at gander talked me into it(great gun he was right do not tell him that thou), that said i wish i had bought the x-bolt medallion instead, always wanted a browning medallion.

Still anxiously awaiting those mounting rings. Still debating on whether to mount and bore-sight myself, or have it done. Since I've never done it before I probably should have it done by an expert, but that means more time waiting to squeeze off a few rounds.
to bore sight just take the bolt out look into the bore( of course use a bench and gun rest lock the gun down do not move it) and move the crosshairs on the scope where the bore is pointed, by useing the turets this will put you on paper. then shoot, put the crosshairs now on the hole you just shot and move the crosshairs to your disiered point of impact, shot a couple gourps and your done. this is how i did it before i bought my boresighter. hope this helps speed things up for you

And if I had a gun vice, I'd not even question whether or not to take it somewhere to get boresighted. Right now (still fairly new to rifles) I only have a couple of bean bag rests that you can see in the above picture. They probably aren't good enough stabilization for boresighting. Maybe santa will bring me a gun vice this christmas
Great rifle. I also just got a new X-Bolt - a Composite SS Stalker in 325 WSM. I had looked at other rifles and have always been a Remington fan. I admit availability in the caliber I wanted influenced my decision and I'm very glad it did.
I had some trepidations based on what I now feel are unsubstantiated stories concerning heavy recoil with the WSM cartridge line in the light rifles available.
Yesterday (the third day I had the rifle) was spent at the range with Nosler's 200 gr Custom factory load. All groups at approx .750 (100 yds) and I feel most of that variation was me rather than the rifle (topped with Leupold VX 3.5-10 x 40). Recoil was abosutely a non factor - it was slightly heavier (to me) than my 270 Rem BDL but not enough to be very noticeable and I doubt it would be noticed at all in hunting conditions. Just a wonderful rifle and certainly capable of more accuracy than I am.
I finally got to the range today with my rifle and scope. Need to adjust the scope a bit (mounted and boresighted myself). Beautiful gun, shoots great. Can't say I am a good shot with it yet, still getting used to the recoil, however after 17 rounds, no shoulder pain. Unlike my dad who shot 3 rounds and now has a sore shoulder lol.
I actually managed to snag some Rem Managed Recoil online. Those should be coming in tomorrow. Should help get me more used to the gun, at a much lower cost/recoil per round.
