357 Pressures...?

What is the maximum pressure for the 357? I'd like to stay away from it, but got some powder (longshot) that puts the pressures up there. Thought about getting something a little lighter, but don't know.

Per my speer manual.

"The industry maximum average pressure for the 357 Magnum is 35,000 psi."

Start with published reccomended starting loads from a reputable manual or powder Mfg reccomendations. This should put you in the safe pressure zone. Work up with caution looking for signs of increased pressure.

Read your load books or go on line to Hodgdon powder site and use reccomended loads.I see no listings in 3 books for longshot so the only way I would use it is contact Hodgdon and see if they reccomend it.Otherwise I would use powder reccomended in reloader books. ,,,sam.
