I wanted to put my favorite one down but i see too many in my safe that i really like. Here's two totally different looking guns, but both apeal to me. Belgium sweet- 16, vent rib. I have never shouldered any gun so pleasing to shoulder, and sight. second is my 03a3 Springfield. Like its long wooded military profile, and its peep sight is quick to the target. But then i could go on with others too . Ok, enough, i'll stop now.

Tom

I don't think it is the beauty of an M1 Garand that makes you do that, it's just the pure awesomeness of it. A Garand is one of the few rifles (imo) that you can pick up and be totally confident in, just because of the way it feels on your shoulder, has some heft to it.

I'm fond of ALL the well built firearms! The best part is taking one completely apart, checking out all of it's working parts, and putting it back together, all nice and clean. The old military rifles always put me in a daydream, wondering where they've been, and who might have used them.

caopai,

You're absolutely right, the Garand just commands so much respect and admiration that it's akin to being in the presence of a 4 star General. You just can't help but be impressed.

The smell of cosmoline is a turn-on

I do not like to set the Garand or the Swede back in safe. Like to leave em out for couple days

These 2 rifles really are a piece of art. I love just looking at them. Maybe I just have a lever gun fetish. Are there any one or two guns in your collection that you just hate to put down because you enjoy looking at them that much? Maybe I'm weird?
