non burning tracers

I followed a discussion for a while on a non burning tracer.
Has anyone seen or tried something like that?
I might want to use them at night for hogs and varmint hunting.

If it doesn't burn it's either a bad rd. or not a tracer. It can't be a tracer and not burn and emit light so you can follow the bullets path. Tracers are design for the most part to direct fire on target not for hunting purposes. Stick with SP for hogs and HP or ballistic tips for varmints.

Tracers are FMJ bullets and usually lighter in weight and would not make a good hunting rd. for anything I know of and would be illegal to hunt with anyways, and there is the fire hazard you have to deal with also.

Never heard of it either. It sounds neat, but would have to be a completely new form of tracer. I can not think of a way to force a bullet to let off visible light without releasing energy through a burn.

If you have a link to the discussion, or a manufacturer, I would like to read up on this.
