Rossi 12 gauge single shot

Does anyone know what the best slug to use for the Rossi 12 gauge single shot? I have attempted firing Federal bird shots and it misfired 8 of 50. I used a remington slug and would not fire at all. Fire 3 of 5 federal 3 in slugs, and fired 25 winchester birdshots without a single misfire. The birdshots and remington slugs were the 2.75 rounds. I am totally confused. I am going deer hunting. I want to get a slug that won't misfire from this gun. It is only 2 weeks old. When it doesn't misfire it shoots great.

It sounds like the problem is with the gun itself. Is it new or used? Is it clean? Is there any crud around the firing pin? Is the hammer spring OK?

Its a brand new gun. I have cleaned it religiously. I have put a total of 55 rounds of winchesters through it. No misfires at all. Had a smith look at it and he couldn't find anything wrong with it. He said it could have just been some of the preservative oil around the pin that was causing some of the issues and just needed to be worked out a little. She fires winchesters like a dream. I have had 1in spreads @ 50 yards with those slugs.

Hate to say it but I'm afraid the Rossi Braztech's are going to cause lots of people lots of problems. I blamed misfires on Wolf ammo totally unfounded. I bought Remington factory loads still misfires three out of five times. It seems to me that the hammer spring may be weak and that it's a design flaw. I don't have time nor the desire to work out their problem. I orderded a Stevens 200 today. For 100 bucks more I think I made a good investment. Anyone else have misfire problems with Braztech's?? Mine was a .223 buhl barrell but I don't think the model matters I believe the hammer isn't striking hard enough.
Thanks,
George

P.S.
I sat in a deerstand for the last two weeks with a gun that won't shoot. LOL
