Last saturday I shot my uncles new .308 pistol. I have never shot a handgun before so it was pretty fun. He has his set up with a nice scope and a bi-pod along with a homemade deal on the butt of the grip that is just two nuts welded on a piece of angle iron bolted to the butt with a bolt in the two nuts to adjust for aiming. This little gun Is extremely accurate, more accurate than any rifle I have ever shot. I was shooting 1" groups at 200 yds and my uncle was shooting 2" groups at 600 yds. I have always wanted to get a .44 mag revolver for fun and for carrying and maybe a automatic 9mm just for fun but have no idea where to start. And now it would be nice to have a pistol like my uncle's .308 just for fun as well. But this is kinda weird for me because all of my guns are for practical purposes thus far.

rondog, I don't even know what brand or make it is. I looked for markings alittle but did not find any. But then agin I din't look to hard. And yes, It is a reall tak driver

The Contenders can be amazing shooters. I had one with the .223Rem 14" bull barrel and 3X scope - it outshot my Bushmaster M17S at one hundred yards! But it required a real learning curve to hold steady and shoot to best advantage, at least for me. I finally sold it. Wish I still had it.
I have a Thompson Encore rifle and I will say it's one of the most accurate rifles I own. My friend bought the 223 rem 14" stainless bull barrel pistol and he could shoot really well with it. He had shot many coyote at 200+ yards with it.
Perhaps it's an Encore pistol. I didn't think the Contender (original or G2) could handle the .308 due to the smaller barrel diameter. G2 Contender Pistols - Thompson/Center
