I need some help and advice for this scout scope mount...

Have any of you guys used this scout scope mount from David's Collectibles for the 91/30?

Mosin Nagant Parts and Accessories

I'm looking to get the $22.99 mount, rings and long eye relief scope for my 1943 Izzy 91/30. I don't have alot of money to throw into a scope and mount setup and I'm looking to convert my old Soviet warhorse into a Whitetail deer rifle since opening day is on the 15th of this month.

If you've used it before, how was it? Is it good enough to use on a 91/30 as a "deer rifle"? I'm not looking to shoot 400 yards or anything with precision accuracy. Possibly 150 yards max which is a pretty easy shot for me with iron sights, but low light conditions prevented me last year from staying out too late. At least with the scope I can get maybe an extra hour out in the blind.

Yes they do work, but you will need to tighten it down real tight.
Because the Mosin's kick will knock it loose in 3 or 4 rounds.
Here is the scope I used.
2-7X32 ILL. PISTOL SCOPE/RINGS
Gitting it lined up is a chore, but after I got it going it shot good.
This is the first scope that I can see just as good keeping both eyes open.

Thanks AK Hunter. I will definately be sure to tighten it real good. I'll use some loctite and then tighten the screws as tight as I can. I learned my lesson with that on all my high powered rifles and carbines.

I got a Spanish FR8 Mauser (7.62 NATO) from Dunhams and after a quick cleaning, I took it up north and started shooting in my yard with it. The screw-on flash supressor was literally 2 maybe 3 shots away from going downrange and never being seen again after it worked its way loose. I then cleaned her after and tightened it down with loctite and it's been fine for a year now. I thought about leaving it off and seeing the possible fireball it would make at night.

Chris, If you have a drill , I'd drill a 1/8 hole through the mount where the
2 set screws attach it to the rear sight base. And then use the factory rear sight pin. That will help to eliminate some of the side to side movement that causes them to come loose all the time.

I have a new scope that is pretty decent, I think it is the NC star version of Ak Hunters. Pretty rapid acquisition, and plenty of light for a economy scope. NC Star Pistolero Series SEPS2732B 2-7X32 Illuminated Pistol Scope w/ Long Eye Relief, Blue Lenses FREE S&H NcSTAR Riflescopes.

Now for the mount, I am sure by the end of the day the thread will be full.

As far as my MN hunting rifle, I have a leapers solid body type, its pinned and stays put.
