Yes and the scumbag politicians should also be forced to use Social Secutiry and not their own private little funds for retirement. That way they might actaully give a crap about all of the potential problems that we will all be faced with soon. Imaging paying in for 45 years and supporting the system and then its not there for you. They do not seem to be to worried about it at the moment.

Angry

If the Elitists in Government had to use the SSI and healthcare that We The People do, they would not be constantly robbing the funds for their pork projects and payoffs!

Knowing what we know today and what were still learning. All liveing retired and serveing elected politition's should be rounded up and and throw in prison for treason, theft, breaking the constitution and excepting money illegaly.

I would like to see one of our smarter members than me draw up a national petition about changes we want made.

Slash there pay, there retirement will be the same as our's and they recieve the same health care as other Americans get.

Make lobbyist illegal, Term limit's and other things I can't think of.
That's all we have to do and now would be a good time to do it.

These snibbling POS need to be put in there place !!!!!

Our Congress and Senate have to Humbled. They are blind and deft and can not make common sence dissions.
They oviously have know regards for the will of this nation's citicens nor the constitution.

If signing the Declaration of Independence is the solution to do what I said in the 1st. post and this one then when or how do we get started signing ?
I got my pen laying right here on my deck.

As long as all we have to choose from each election year is "THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS" nothing is going to change in Washington.

Fair is fair. Congresscritters are elected to make laws, not to become noblemen. We fought a war (arguably, two wars if you consider the War of 1812 as an attempt by the British to seize their former colonies) to get rid of that kind of mindset.

Principles of leadership I absorbed with my breakfast bacon are as follows:

1. Take care of your horses before you take care of the men (read: care for your gear and equipment before you eat and bed down);
2. Take care of your men before you worry about yourself (If you do this and are sincere, your men will take such good care of you, you won't have to worry about yourself much); and
3. Never ask your men to do anything you won't do.

If your troops are eating K-rations (which will tell you when I was first exposed to this), you better not be eating steak. If it's raining out and your troops are in a leaky barn sleeping in the hay, you damned well better not be in the house sleeping on a feather bed with the farmer's daughter to keep you warm. If they don't have a full issue of gear, until your outfit mugs the quartermaster or conducts a midnight requisition at the supply depot you better not have better gear than they do. (The best example of application of this principle I ever heard of is from Vietnam. A brigadier general had been sent out from Saigon to check on the 199th Light Infantry Brigade of the Third Division. The General set down at an LZ where a company was setting up for a night defensive position to talk to the CO. On the way back to his chopper, he saw a rifleman whose pants were in tatters after a week out on patrol in the jungle with no resupply to speak of. The grunt looked to be the same size as the General. He called the private over and changed pants with him on the spot before he lifted out to fly back to Saigon.)

Same thing in Congress. If you are asking the People to accept a health plan that will cover everyone to some extent, you have no right to go sneaking around after a better deal just because you are a Congressman. Your health is no more precious to you than theirs is to them. If you want to pay over and above the basic plan for better coverage or treatment, that's your business; but you damned well pay for it of your own pocket, not expect the country to pick up the tab because you think you're a VIP.

That's called leadership by example. It's a commodity that is rare everywhere, and from what I can see nonexistent on Capitol Hill. And Obama and Congress wonder why their approval ratings continue to drop?

Same health care as the plan in progress, definitely.

SS, no. SS was/is intended as supplemental retirement income, not as a primary source of support. People should begin saving/investing for their retirement when they start working and getting paid for it.

This is so true. All of the really great wartime leaders always put there men first. Rommel always insisited on eating the same ration as his men in the feild. he told his orderly how else am I suppose to know the condition of the men in the field if I do not live like them and know first hand just how far they can go with what they have. I think they need to make a huge poster of the decalration of Independence and wallpeper every room where any elected official is making decisions that will be impossed on the people. I wonder how many of these politicians could even quote exactly what is written there. Like other have siad we are consistently given two bad choices for almost every election that comes up. I whish I knew the fix for this corruption that seems to have become the accepted way in our goverment.

Actually its more like you get to suggest who you would like to elect from a couple of shady candidates. Then the insurance companies along with the huge pharmacutical companies put whoever will write the laws in their favor in the postions. If I am wrong than someone state some facts that proves so by all means
