I have owned a P345 for 4 years. I have shot it very little over that time. 600-700 rounds. The last couple of times at the range, the firing pin failed to advance and strike the round.
After the first range session, I cleaned the gun thoroughly.
Still happened. Some magazines, no problem. Others up to 3-4 misfires each. I changed ammunition quality. Problem persisted.
Overnighted by ground back to Ruger on a Thursday. They received it on the following Monday. $30 total shipping. I expected a phone call from the repair department giving me the repair cost. Also expected to give them my credit card info for repair costs & return shipping.
Nothing. No call. No e-mail. Nothing. They had told me 1-2 weeks turnaround.
On the 14th day, the Fex Ex guy rings the doorbell. I was expecting the 5 free magazines that came with my new S&W M&P 15 AR. Nope.
It was my P345 coming back from Ruger. New firing pin and firing pin spring. It had obviously been cleaned to boot! No charge!
Ruger has been repeatedly the best on customer service issues over the years.
A friend of mine years ago had a very similar experience. He inherited a Mark I target pistol from his dad. his dad shot countless rounds thru it. when he inherited it, he said he himself had shot so much ammo through it he was suprised it had not finally worn something out. finally his son grew up and started shooting it on a regular basis. At this point, with the third generation steadily feeding this thing, he decided to box it up and send it back to Ruger to have them check it over. (his son objected to sending away "his" pistol).
he sent a letter along with it telling them he could see nothing wrong with it, but since it had an unimaginable amout of ammo run thru it going on 3 generations, he ask them to check it over and call him with a list of what it would cost to replace any worn parts. He just wanted to make sure it would be in good shape so he could pass it on to his son someday. 3 to 4 weeks went by and no phone call or letter arrived. (pre-internet days). then a knock at the door one day and there was his pistol! they had a detailed list of parts they said were slightly worn that they replaced, they also re-blued the gun (it literally looked brand new!) all done at no charge!
I've had great customer service from them myself (i've lost screws and told them it was my fault, they sent extras in case i did it again, no charge).
I always enjoy hearing others that have had similar experiences like this in dealing with Ruger. it's because of this type of service and the fine firearms they build is why I have so many of them. other manufacturers could learn from them on what customer service should be.
Ruger is at the top of my list for years because of their customer service.
Awhile back I purchased a MK III 22/45. It came with a packaged rail for mounting optics. Unfortunately, the package was missing one of the screws. I called Ruger and discussed this with a young lady. Three days later I received four screws and a Ruger sew on patch in the mail !! That is quality service in my book !!

Tell The CEO I sent a note about not being able to find certain parts; or the ''second'' line parts.
This was sent yesterday; I recieved today a response; and a howdy doo Very good from something 'I' questioned
I have a few Rugers; my experiences with the Ruger ''phone folks'' has been a most positive.
Now responding to my ??e-mail to the CEO I will continue with my Ruger thinking
From Ruger Thank you for your encouraging comments about the new Ruger website that you submitted through the Ask the CEO function. We wanted you to know that the schematic views (or Exploded Views as we call them) are still on the website. When looking at a product, check out the “Extras Tab” and click on “Exploded View” - you will see the schematic view with a magnifying tool option to make it easier to read the part numbers. Take a look at the new SR-556 section as an example:
I traded off my Taurus guns for a Ruger,I had a terrible time with my Taurus gun breaking down and waiting months for repairs. It is encouraging to hear that I will have a better experience with Ruger if I ever need repairs done, which I am thinking will be less likely than with my Taurus.
