Just to be clear. My Christian God isn't the same one who lead all those crusaders to kill. Also not the one who hates gays. Even though I'm sure the people who think/thought so were reading the same Bible.

I'm not familiar enough with the crusades to comment. But I do know this, God hates all sin, but He loves the sinner enough to give up His only begotten Son, that we may be forgiven. I think the bigger problem arises when it comes to calling sin, what God calls sin.

Rather it was Jesus who said hate the sin, but love the sinner. God was less forgiving. Jesus also said the Old Testament was the way of my Father and not to follow it but to adhere to his teachings of non-violence, pacific ways. The again, Jesus was a pure Socialist and I find it surprising the anti-socialist banter around here, yet the praise of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
It was Jesus who told rich men to give all their wealth or they could not get to Heaven. He wanted to heal the sick, feed the poor, even raise the dead, hated war and killing, forgave the criminals, wanted peace at all costs and was executed by the rich and powerful conservatives of the day for his liberal, subversive talk and actions.
Kinda makes you think about perspectives.

I do not put the gods of other down because I do not feel that is my place to do so.
It is said that to enter heaven one must do so through Jesus Christ,i figure if God wants to make any exceptions it is His perogative,He is the boss, and,as always,I bow to Him.

As long as we are human, and there isn't much chance of that ever changing, we are going to make judgments about people and their religions. The objective here, I think, is to try not to believe all these preconceptions and to understand that they come from a limited, faulty human mind. Admittedly this is hard to do, especially when the line between religion and politics becomes blurred, and when brutal acts are tied to religion and politics.

My God gives me the capacity to love and pray for others that don't believe in him. He allows me to care for them and help them when ever they are in need, as many of them have helped me. My God doesn't want me to mistreat or kill others just because they are of a differnet religion than I am. I am a soldier of God and my task is to bring as many people to salvation through Jesus Christ as I can. I will do it for you if given the opportunity.

That must be a quote from 1st Opinions 3:5. Jesus fulfilled the Scriptures, He did'nt do away with them. He came to heal and forgive because He's the only one who can.

I use a Bible that is translated from the original Hebrew, it differs little from the King James version. I am not hung up on just the books that were cannonized into the King James version. I read all of them and my faith is not changed by the So called "Lost books of the Bible." All I can say is that I believe in God the Father and in his Son Jesus Christ, and I always will. I wish that U that don't believe in him would just give Him a chance. I pray for U my friends.
