Beretta NEOS cycling problems

I have a new NEOS .22 that I just purchased. Fun gun, neat looks, shoots really well, except for some feeding issues. For one, sometimes when loading a new round, it seems the slide does not rack forward all the way, keeping the extractor behind the round, and nothing when the trigger is pulled. Have to pull the slide back about halfway and release it to fire the round. Have been using high-velocity loads, run about 650 through it to date. Any similar problems from anybody else? Should I expect it to loosen up any more? First small-caliber firearm I've owned - used to 9mm and .40 cal breaking in after about 300 rounds.

While I don't own one, I've been researching 22s and find that many brands have feed problems with rimfire cartridges. One shop salesman told me S&W 22As hated Winchester. I've hear the Ruger Mark pistols also can be finnicky with feeding ammo. I'm sure you'll get more responses but since I've been researching for a week, both online and in stores, this might help.

Mine does not seem to mind aguilla high velocity. I use the 40 grain bullets without problems. My Erma 22 Luger clone won't function with anything I have tried other than some older milk carton rounds from the early 90's. All the modern stuff I send thru them gives FTFs or extraction problems. I am thinking it is simply the gun. The Neos should work fine. Try disassembling it and cleaning the heck out of it.
