I recently moved to OH from IL, and have been interested in CCW for a long time. I went and got signed up for a class in January so I am excited that I finally have the opportunity to move forward with the process. The class in OH is 12 hours long and I am sure that a lot of it will be interesting stuff. I would like to do it earlier but they are all filled up for November and December all ready.
If you have been around guns most of your life you might find most of the CCW class boring. I did learn a few things I didn't know. The main thing that is useful is what you learn about the laws concerning concealed carry here in ohio...Good luck and welcome to the Buckeye State....

I have been around guns and shooting all of my life, but I am still looking forward to the whole thing, hopefully the whole process doesn't take too long after I get all the paper work done.
It took a about 3 weeks I think to get mine after I turned it into the Sheriffs Office when I first applied back in 2005. Renewal took less than a week. I took mine to the Sheriff's Office in Preble County..It really depends on what county you take it to. You can go to any adjacent county to the county you live in to get your permit. Your instructor should be able to tell you which counties are the fastest and easiest to get your permit in your area.
