I'm wondering if this isn't or wasn't a terrorist infiltration?

I'd rather have it be that then our soldiers snapping and conspiring together. well, I'd rather have it not happen at all. But now they're saying there are 3 shooters, one in custody.

This is speculation on my part, but one has to wonder because there have been other attempts by terrorists to attack our bases.

And I really find it strange that 3 soldiers would plan this. And they're not even sure there are 3 shooters?

Also, I guess there was a graduation taking place on the base and we know those that hate and want us dead love soft targets...And lots of people at a graduation is indeed a soft target.

My thoughts and prayers are with all concerned...

Thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families but its an ongoing event right now. The FBI just got called in they are still figuring it out and looking for more possible suspects.

They are saying that preliminary reports were saying 3 separate shootings on three different sides of the base within a short time.

details still coming in.

My thoughts go out to the victim's families, the lost souls, and all on the base.

It's now up to 9 dead and 27 wounded, so far not terror related. Our soldiers are under too much stress.
Personnel will probably have to register their guns now. The O is speaking.

Fox News and the AP are reporting the shooter is an Officer originally from Virginia who recently converted to Islam and may have been upset about deploying. Not sure about the other 2 in custody

Claims are that the shooter was A Major that had converted to Islam and was about to be deployed overseas...This is Not Good at all.
Our Prayers go out to those families affected by this...

Yea, Fox news has said they have the name of the "main" shooter, the one that was killed, but Fox, until this name gets confirmed by the military won't release it. Very wise on their part. But As Moose said in his most recent post, they did confirm he had converted to Islam and was set to deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan and was very upset about that?

The name was just released. The "main" shooter was Major Malik Nidal Hasan...And they, Fox News, just said he was a mental health professional?

This isn't the first time that we have seen a US military person with divided Muslim loyalties cause violence when confronted with a conflict between US values and those of Islam. I can somewhat remember the cleric who threw the grenade into a tent on some base. Anyone else?

It was an army major, and apparently a psychiatrist. Wow--would NOT have expected this.

Thoughts and prayers should be with the victims and families.

Unfortunately this probably occurred once again in a place where weapons carriage was highly restricted. It is really disconcerting how one individual can create so much carnage in such a situation (not unlike the VT killings). Although an armed individual might well have been able to stop it, the thought of an officer doing something like this certainly would have caught me off guard.
