Model 12 bolt question

Here's a pic of the bolt from my M12. When I first got it there was a problem with what appeared like the foregrip was jammed after a shot and would not slide back to eject the fired shell without a lot of force back and forth. I found the small screw that is shown in the pic, holds in the left hand extractor, to be further out than it should, past the recessed hole that it is in. I think it was holding up the piece that slides next to it. I tightened it down all of the way and had no more jamming but it doesn't always fully eject the fired shell now, maybe 50% of the time it works perfect. Should this screw be tightened all of the way in or part way out? Is thread locker used on things like this? Is this maybe a symptom of the extractor spring being worn?

Thanks,
Mike

That screw is the firing pin retractor screw and does not retain the Left extractor which is held in by a pin , with a spring in the rear in a hole.AS I remember it That screw should be turned until it stops and then Lightly seated . I would Not use loctite on it unless it keeps backing out under Normal use Then only a very small amount of REMOVABLE strength...Never had that happen yet on one of mine.
The extractor spring May be weak and check the extractors for chips and wear...

After I posted this , I wonder if that screw has been replaced with an improper screw that may interfere with the rear of the extractor ??? Most of the extraction is handled by the right side extractor anyway...

The screw did back out on it's own after about 200 shells went through it. I would doubt this bolt had ever even been out of the gun before. I'll remove it to check though and I'll take a look at the spring too

Also check the right extractor and spring because it is the right one that holds the shell firmly against the left allowing it to be pulled back far enough to contact the ejector and there fore eject the spent shell.
