Anybody know anything about these? The guy at the local fun store thinks highly of them. I'd like to get the opnion of some folks that don't want my money.
Apparently they use regular GLock .45 acp magazines and are really sturdy and accurate. Comments?
Interesting, I need to find out more on this. The concept of the same cartridge for the pistol/rifle is always cool. Hope to hear more on this one! Thanks
One of the best SMG's on the market for the caliber. Wait, there aren't too many of those. Anyways. They had them on Future Weapons and the show spoke VERY highly of them. Superbly accurate because of the way the next bullet is cycled into the chamber for firing.
The coolest thing to me is that it uses regular Glock .45 magazines. Talk about cross-over flexibility, it uses the same ammo and the same magazine as your sidearm. You could snap a 30 round Glock Mag in there and shoot for a long time before you had to re-load. Effective range is similar to most pistol-caliber rifles, 100-150 yards. These are supposed to be very accurate. The shpo guy also said they are really light and really simple to maintain. The folding stock makes me think you could probably poke it into a BOB or BOV easily.
Looks like a butt-ugly but wildly handy close-range shooter.
It don't look like my Marlin Camp 45 or the Thompson sub gun I once thought I needed....still interesting.
I would much prefer your Marlin Camp Carbine over the Kriss. Thing looks like a monstrosity. It doesn't do anything that a good pistol doesn't do at short range other than up a lot of space and be big and clumsy, and at longer ranges the traditional Camp Carbine looks like a better bet.

Actually it does have a special recoil reducing action, and there is supposedly no muzzle rise whatsoever. It is certainly too evil looking to be allowed in CA. I still dream of a .45 carbine someday...

I think the original purpose was as an SMG, not a semi-auto fun gun. I am sure it would be pretty fun in semi auto, but it wouldn't have much of an advantage over a regular .45 pistol. It is much better served as a full auto for room clearing me thinks.
This was my Christmas present from my girlfriend this year. Yes, she rules!
This is an awesome gun. Go check out their website, they have animated schematics illustrating the new technology employed in this firearm. Basically a short bolt that pivots on a substantial counter weight. This counter weight rests on a beefy main spring. When fired the bolt travels back and downward with the counter weight in two grooves that run down through the sqaure area behind the mag well. This diverts much of the recoil downwards. You can still feel recoil, its just....different. The felt recoil feels like it actually reenforces shooting position. Theres almost 0 target reacquistion as this system negates muzzle climb by as much as 95% on the 950-1200 rpm fully auto model. I have the semi-auto so there is virtually no muzzle movement at all. Great to shoot!
The Kriss is lightweight(30 rd mag weighs as much as the gun), breaks down in about 5 secs with the removal(no tools required) of four retaining pins, has only a couple moving parts, is very simple in design, has integral accessory mounts, folding stock, very accurate thru 100 yrds, and its .45!
Only drawback is price. But the price has already come down slightly.
my buddy really wants one (i think after playing call of duty modern warfare 2 where it is called the victor or something) either way its a unique piece, there arnt to many other guns out there thinking up new mechanics for auto loaders, plus i like the name......reminds me of my self
cool new design, but I dont know about owning one.
I one question, is it considered a rifle or handgun ?

lets us folks have short barrel rifles w/o going through the hassel. since the kriss barrel looks like its only 10" long
I shot one in semi auto when I was in Norfolk. I didn't like the way it felt and I couldn't put the bullets where I wanted on the target. Probably because it was a rental that never got cleaned right.
