You would likely get better storage from Diesel with antibiotic stabilizers.

Big problem storing gas with ethanol in it for any time at all. Even stabil doesn't help with the ethanol gas. But if you're storing in a drum the goop should be on the bottom of the drum.
Mercury marine noted some really big problems with phase separation in the their outboards (2 and 4 cycle) and they went around the Dallas, TX area purchasing sample gas from stations and they found that some of the ethanol gas was as high as 30% ethanol. Wasn't an issue for vehicle owners because the gas gets burned quicker, but boat owners sometimes leave fuel in their boats for extended periods.

Thumbs up

Stabil has a new formula (green) that DOES stabilise E-10 gas. I have been using gas stored for more than a year, since early LAST hurricane season, in my car and motorcycle. Works fine. My lawn mower sat all winter unused with E10 gas in it's tank, It fired up first pull.
There is also a newer stabilzer called Startron, designed bor boating use. It works well too.
Pri-G has been around awhile, and has many fans. It isn't available locally for me though.
Best bet is to refresh the additive each six months or so. But YES - E10 gas can indeed be stored a year or more.

Been using Pri-G for several years following hurricane Rita. I get about two years storage using Pri-G and have no problems using the gas in any of my engines. YMMV though.

When i was young he said in a pinch use Mystery oil in your gas for all uses.I tried it and it works.I am not gonna say this is scientific but it does work, at least up to a year or so.

The general accepted time is a year. So what do you do so you always have a supply of gas?

Get two barrels of gas. One empty, one full. Once a week pull a gallon out of the full one to mow your yard, and at the same time put a gallon in the empty one. You always have a supply of gas that is constantly being used so it never gets old.

Diesel does keep longer as some have said already.

A month ago or so we had to evacuate the rig for the storm. When we got back on it the pumps to the primary fuel tanks would not kick over. But they were able to kick on the pumps to the secondary supply sponson. The diesel stored in there hadnt been touched for the better part of a decade.

Gas for less

Believe it or not I bought 5 barrels 55 gals./ each added 12 oz. stabil to each in 2000. I am now finishing the last barrel of gas> I swear its the stabil and my Chev. Lumina has no loss of power.

It cost me $81 at the dealer's shop to learn about not using Ethanol gas in my boat motor. The carburetor's jets became plugged up faster than I would have expected.

In my area (Kansas City, MO) all the stations only sell ethanol mixed gas so there's no option. So...I bought a bottle of Ethanol stabilizer from Ozone Auto Parts to mix with every tankfull in my boat. Then for long term storage I use a different type of Ozone's long term stabilizer additive. Since using this stuff the motor has worked perfectly.
