It says CUSTOM on the cd case it was one of those jobbies that goes on your sun visor of your car. As for the delay time, I'm not sure what took them 2 days but probably one of the gun-hating store clerks pissing in his panties. I know what I did was wrong but noone was injured and it was a lesson well learned and I know who not to count on now if SHTF.

In a small town like Buffalo your local officers know the folks or know some things about folks that don't necessarily know them. I can easily see the call coming in and not raising anyone's hackle kind of a "yeah, he's a good guy. I'll drop by and talk to him when I get a chance".

No biggy HEMI you were just lookin out for us gun owners.

Green thats exactly what the officer must have thought. I didn't recognize the LEO on the phone but he must have seen that being I have a CCW permit that I'm not the type to go out and do something ridiculous although my mistake was kinda like that.

Prolly an administrative unload. Pop and secure the mag with the pistol still in the holster, present da pistol in a safe or designated safe area, lock slide to rear, let the round that was in the pipe fall to the ground, check visually, check physically, maybe even show clear to another officer, pick up the round. Not much call to unload a pistol at the PD. Most LEO agencies run a hot range anymore so there's a lot of loading (topping off mags) done with the pistol in the holster. Sometimes LEOs will ask an instructor on the range "how many rounds do I need?" and get the response "some", which is insructor speak for "fill your pockets and top off your mags every chance you get and if you run out during a course of fire it's your own dang fault!"

Dang it you asked somebody else what time it was and I jumped in and told you how to build a watch! SORRY!

Basically what Green said.

Drop Mag.
Work slide to eject hot round and lock in rear position.
Check magwell for any rounds.
Drop slide forward.
Work slide back and forwards 3 times.
Physically check with finger in chamber for rounds.
Look away and then look back and work slide again to see if any rounds in chamber.

Indeed sir. I also enjoy hearing people's different methods for various things such as cleaning guns and the like.

Well Archie...I can kinda understand how that could happen, and it took cojones to admit it in public. Maybe your published mistake will help prevent others from doing the same thing with worse results!

p.s. Was that a Ford car? If so, I would have put the rest of the clip into it!

Nah its a Pontiac Grand Am GT the smaller engine where anything under the hood you need to get to is beyond reach without nearly taking the hood off!!! As for taking cajones to post that I was kinda shaking when I typed it. I was kinda worried about being crucified and my slight bit of intelligence and experience with certain things nullified.

OK. First of all... thanks for the post. It is a reminder to all... DON'T BE F***IN STUPID! I am not calling you stupid just careless....

I spend enough time in the military as an armorer so that I will ALWAYS double, triple and quadruple check that a weapon is unloaded before, during and after!

don't worry about the rumors. your friend probably didn't start them, he probably just told someone about the discharge and the rest is history. once the snowball gets rolling, it just gets bigger and bigger.
five years after i graduated high school i ran into an old classmate. i was surprised to hear i died in high school. what a tragic loss. in reality i graduated early to go to work full-time. after the moment of silence for my death, we went and had a few beers.
glad you learned a lesson even if it was the hard way. coulda been worse!

Thrillbilly may be on to sumpin'! Considering the recent history of your sled you may have had a subconscious desire to shoot that sucker! It's all so clear now. Most men are every bit as bad as women are supposed to be for gossiping. Biggest dif is our rumors usually pertain to sex and violence :-)

So dad found out about my incident and was really cool about it. I was leaving my grandma's goin back to work from lunch one day and I greeted him with a "whats happenin?" and he goes "oh nothin really, not shootin my vehicles thats for sure!!" and kind of chuckled. So all is well. The officer I talked to regretfully had me come back in for a ticket. I guess his Sgt. said that even though I was well ashamed of what happened that there was no warnings that a ticket had to be issued. So I was out $60.
