Its not really new its been out for a couple years now. Benelli is a subsidiary of Beretta much like Tika and Sako. (Gun companies are like car companies, several brand names under one big name)

It was originally marketed as the Rx4 Storm Rifle, to go along with the Cx4 Storm pistol caliber carbine and of course their Px4 Storm Rifle. When no one bought it they just changed the name and started to sell it under Benelli's name in hopes that their "tactical" record might provoke some actual sales.

Just google search "rx4 storm" and see all the old pictures (same) pictures of it when it was under the Beretta USA name.

Kinda like the (CROATIA MADE) Springfield XD Pistol thats been around since 1991. It was designed and made by I. M. Meta and was used mostly by Croatian military and police. It was later exported to the US by Intrac and later distributed by HSAmerica. It was calle d the HS2000.

I dont think they sold all that well and Springfield Armory made a deal to sell it under their name. So they changed the name to its current XD series and there ya go.

I was told by my local dealers they didn't really come to the US because there were import problems (legalities, restrictions, etc.). I'm sure there's a pretty good market for these.
