The Stevens .22-.410 was introduced in 1939 and discontinued in 1950.The name was changed to Savage/Stevens M24 after that.The Stevens has collectors value ranging from $425.at 100%-$250 at 90%,$165 at 70%.The Savage M24 has similar pricing but may start at around $600.or be down to about $350. ,,,sam.
Savage bought out Stevens in 1950and promptly discontinued most of what they made except the little combination guns, and the single barreled shotguns The combo was changed to the savage mod 24, and the shotguns were changed to Savage shotguns both were first only 410 ga/.22, and 410 Shotgun. The expanded later to what is available today! They can be very handy firearms, I have a couple of these little combos. The little topper ( i'm Reminded were was not a savage but an H&R) shotgun chambered for 20 Ga that were my four kids first shotguns, and they still have them, and my youngest is 45 yrs old! The H&R topper was about the same quality as the old Stevens shotguns.
Hunt with your grandpa's little combination gun, and put it to the use it was made for! You'll love that little firearm, and the fact that it was your grandpa who owned it even makes it better. Hang onto it and pass it down to your kids.

Thanks big boomer, DUGABOY1 & samuel I used to hunt with it years ago, but haven't in quite a while. I want to get back to using it at a target range and eventually do some hunting again!

That is sweet of you, MLN1963 I will keep that in mind! I would want them to end up in someones posession when I am departed that will appreciate them! I also have an old Harrington 12 gauge shotgun...that was my Pa's.
Those over-under .410/.22 LR combos make good survival guns, it you are talking about survival and not playing like you are one of the Wolverines from Red Dawn.
I'm your man, or should I say son? Kidding aside, I hope they find a deserving home when the time comes.
My son has already laid claim to mine. I told him he could at least wait until I was pushing up daisies before he talks about them as his! I'm glad to know I have something to pass down that he wants.
