I'm back!

Hello everybody!

I return as a United States Marine! Graduated from San Diego on November 4th as a private, and couldn't be happier. Boot Camp was fairly easy for me, I was in shape and knew how to shut up and do what I was told. Qualified high sharpshooter on the range, 297/350, expert is at 305. The marksmanship training is unbelievable. I can hit a 20x40 target at 500 yards with open sights using an M16A2 from the 80s! To me that is awesome. Boot Camp changes you, I now see just how whiny people are, and how slow everyone moves. It is kind of hard to adjust after boot, but I am getting there. Getting very bored here though, nobody to compete against, nobody to fight, and nothing to really do.

How is everyone here? CGO-I kept my promise and smiled as they sheared my scalp (they really get ya). Is everyone in the cold climate ready to store their firearms and collect more? Any cool new weapons purchased?

Good to be back!

Private Gunn USMC

Hmmm? No one to fight, you say? Isn't the US Air Force academy in Colorado Springs, CO? Seems like you could find a fight there. Congrats Marine!!!

Well let me be the second to say Congrats! A Military Career will open up so many other doors once/if you choose to leave the service. I was only reserves but it was a plus in getting hired on as a CO. Be Safe!

Thumbs up

Welcome home kcgunner! You did great. I liked what you said, "I was in shape and knew how to shut up and do what I was told." That's harder than most people would beleive. Learning that may be the best thing for you coming out of boot camp.

Thanks all! It is a relief to be out of Boot and be home. The house has finally quieted down and I have time to be alone and relax. Been working out to stay busy, but it just isn't enough, looking forward to MCT.

I was in shape and knew how to shut up and do what I was told.

Lotta folks NEVER figure that out and wonder why everyone around them has a problem!

Congrats and well done!

Semper FI, Brother... stand tall and most times you'll stand alone do not repeat do not follow the crowd.... you be the leader you are and MEN will follow. I am humbly honored and proud to call you brother.... Forever LEAD AS NO ONE CAN AND KEEP YOU HEAD DOWN IN TIMES OF TRIAL.... Hero's are leaders of men not just in the ground. My prayer for you is That the LORD JESUS be with you always as you fulfill the desires of his most HOLY FATHER.......GOD...... You will alway be in my prayers as all other members of our Armed Forces of which I could never put into words just how honored to have also served in the Corps....GOD BLESS....
