So, as title states, I got to shoot the Enfield that I picked up around a week ago, yesterday. It didn't go so well.... I know I need an ejector screw, and I was having problems with extraction here and there too, but that could have been the bad ammo... I was shooting some really poop surplus that had horrid primer delays, and about 5 complete duds out of 30 rounds, and many more that required two to three strikes to fire... Got sick of shooting that crap and just quit shooting the Enfield. lol The only good news I can pull from it is that I didn't die, the gun didn't explode, and from 100 yards, it was still hitting pretty tight, not anything spectacular, but better then I was thinkin it would! lol Now the plan is to buy an ejector screw and some better ammo and try it again. if the ejection problem isn't solved by better ammo, then work the bugs outta that too! She's nothing much now, but I don't ever seem to give up on guns, and atleast this one is a solid project that's worth it.
I suspect that you don't need an ejector screw - no one really does. Its a fall back device for ejecting live rounds. (In fact they have usually ejected before they get to the ejector screw.)
What problem(s) are you actually getting with extraction?
