Talking ******the opener!!******

YAHOOO!!!! Only 5 more days until Rifle Opener! I am STOKED!!!!! LOL I have been packing and repacking my gear all weekend...found another box of .270 shells I didn't know I had...which excites me since I can't find any 130gr core-lockts ANYWHERE!!! I looked in every store from here to Cali and back with no luck.

LOL I am watching deer-hunting TV almost 24/7 these days.
The leaves have dropped...the geese are flying over...IT IS FALL PEOPLE!!!

Are ya'll getting ready? gunnut2u probably has a "pimped" out rifle...maybe blond maple stock with mother-of-pearl inlays and gold-plated bolt...FortyXD is cleaning his europissin' furrin rifle...and Ox needs to site-in that GORGEOUS Rem700 of his (or send it to me! LOL).
I have decided to use the dirty-thirty this year...I can't hardly stand leaving the ol' .270 in the safe, I can hear him crying in there...ol' 700 will HAVE to come out at least one day. LOL I also want to get one with my Mosin...so many choices!

I hope ya'll as excited as I am...and wish ya'll all the luck in the woods!

I KNOW I won't sleep a wink Friday night...I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve!

Thrillbilly, your excitedness is contagious! Our rifle season doesn't start until the 21st. But I'm already packing. Think 5 knives is enough?

Same here !!! Modern Gun opens this come'in Saturday. We call it in our neck of the woods the Big Event.
Be lots of folks from near and far up in tree's In blinds snugged up against trees, stumps, hid in brush tops.

You know ? It sure would be a bad time fer another country to invade America on open'in day...Would'nt it ?

I was in my hunting woods yesterday helping my Step father work on a 4 wheeler bridge and fix up 2 deer stands.
It's unbelieveable how much deer signs we saw. Though I don't get excited anymore about deer season or killing a deer.
I'm getting that way right now. LOL

It seems as we get older and more deer hunts under our belts some of us dont get as excited about deer hunting opening day as we did when we were young uns! I had to laugh at my 16 year old son tonight. Our season opener is this Sat and he left tonight to go stay at grandpa's and look for deer I wont be going out to the ranch till late tommorrow. As for gear 1 gun 1 knife and bullets and mostly food for snacking on while hunting. I have learned to bring only the essentials as it takes to long to unpack all the unused items when I get home! LOL

Good luck with your hunt guys and hope you get a good one!

I'm the same way GotCoffee The only things I take are the boots and socks on my feet LOL.
Pants, shirt and jacket if needed. Orange vest and cap. Camo face net to keep moskeetoes off my face, Brown Jersey gloves. Wedding ring and watch, billfold...Ammo and rifle.
Oop's I forgot the knife and flagging tape. Thats it...My 4 wheeler is loaded with other stuff that might come in handy includeing snack and drinks.

I don't get excited either and I don't when I see a buck.
