Just call me Bubba!

I know, it's blasphemy, but I bought a sporter. This is an old Santa Fe by Golden State Arms. My very first gun I bought was an Enfield, mail order from the back of some gun rag. I can't recall what model but do know I lusted after doing a full spoter job on it, that never happened as Uncle Sam had other plans for me. Anyway I ran across this thing locally and for $150 made it mine. I have finally fulfilled my adolescent dream (one of them) of a custom Lee Enfield. It's too late for the Liz Taylor dream!

Bore is excellent, blue is very good, several holes on the side of the receiver. Cool old Williams scope mount and a cheap Barska scope. It needed a extractor spring, good head space with a #1 bolt head. If it well stop raining I well go shoot it and see what I have. I'm not sure if it's a rof or what. old # is PF 34XX. I'm pretty sure it's a 4/1, I'll know more when I tear it down.

Now don't laugh!

Madcrate - you spawn of the Devil, how can you even bear to touch such an horrendous apology for a rifle - well, at least you didnt do the dirty deed yourself !!!!

Joking apart if its a "PF" then it will be a ROF Fazakerly manufactured rifle and should be a No4 Mk2 probably from the early'50s.

They were designed to have full-wood so the accuracy may not be great - alternatively if the barrel has been correctly floated it may be a great shooter - try it and see - post a report as soon as.

My hands burn when I touch it

I know about the PF series and the "Irish Contract" rifles but aren't all of the late 4/2's stamped(engraved) on the left side of the receiver? This is stamped on the heel (is that the correct term) of the receiver. I need to pull the scope mount and see what's under it.

I'll float it when I refinish the wood this winter. Any good sites that go into the best way to float and bed this type of stock and barrel assembly?

Did I ever send you the book "Competitive Rifle Shooting" ("The accepted Textbook on Target Shooting and Bedding Of Target Rifles" 103 pages)

If not - drop me a PM with your email address (I've probably got it somewhere but send it again) & I'll send you a Pdf copy. It should give you something to do on the long dark Winter nights.

Nice looking rifle for $150. I wouldn't have passed that up.

Yup. Sure is a good looking movie. Wait... There's a rifle in the photo too. For $150 I wouldn't have turned it down either.

Nice sporter. I bought one back this past spring and am extremely happy with it. I don't want to change it back to original configuration as I like the way it looks as is. Not to mention that it shoots fine the way it is as well.
