stoning and polishing the bearing surfaces is okay as long as you dont change any angles. but I do not recommend removing material. where the problem comes in is this. lets use an AR-15 for an example, if you set the safety on and you are able to get any travel in the trigger, this is movement occuring in the surface areas. manufacturers allow a long draw thru (creep) to accomidate this. if you attempt to remove material to reduce creep it can lead to a condition where taking the safety off will drop the hammer. there are other things that can go wrong also but i'm just using this one as an example. unless you know exactly what your doing and what to look for along the way, if you want a crisp clean trigger, spend the money and buy one already set up. more than likely, you will be much safer that way.

With the ATI stock, rubber butt pad, Aim Point Scope, laser and the rifle itself, I've got less than $425.00 in it. I bought all the add on's in a "Hi - Point package deal" from www.combathunting.com I did all the changing over myself, some sanding and fileing to make it fit properly but not too bad once I called a few people and got some insite into it. There is also a video on you tube for putting the ATI stock on the carbine. The video is from ATI themselves.

I had to call Hi - Point for the scope mount as the rifle did not have one when I bought it. But Hi - Point sent it to me for free. They have great customer service from my experiences with them.

Its a fun gun to plink around with too.
