Pimp Pistol :>)

Guys a friend of mine has a Taurus--1911 AR-- nickel plated--with gold colored trigger, hammer, 2 (one on each side) safeies, and gold slide release, gold allen head screws holding the grips on, pearl handles along with a black set of grips. See now why I call it a "Pimp Pistol".

He has never fired it and wants $575.00 for it. I have been searching the Internet and can't find this particular any where. I want to see what they 'retail' for to see if this is a good deal or not.

Since this is a "TAURUS" Forum I thought I would ask you guys.
Don't come back and talk about any model except this Pimp Pistol. I know they have 1911 AR in different finishes but I want info on this one. Also he has never fired the pistol and says that it has a Match Barrel. I can see that the barrel has the same serial number as the pistol engraved on it..

If it has the rail under the barrel I had that exact model in my shop and it sold usd for right around $500. If it's NIB the $700. range is average.

Guys I made a mistake, because it was so shiney like a mirror I thought it was Nickel plated but now know that it is stainless steel that is highly, highly polished.

After hearing your description I might pay that much NOT to own it. :-)

The dreaded polished stainless gun! Brings a memory.
I was standing inspection in 1979 in our academy and the guy next to me had cleaned the fire out of his stainless S&W wheel gun to the point it looked like nickel (used semi-chrome on it) and it was close to graduation so our actual Chief was doing the inspecting and he came to this guy. I can still hear our old former jarhead chief saying "Webb, if we'da wanted you to have a nickel plated pistol we'da issued you one".

Guys this is NOT my SHTF pistol. I have a 70 series Colt Gov't model, a SigSauer P-220 in 45 ACP (my carry gun and my SHTF gun), three 45 ACP revolvers, well as a S&W 44 Magnum revolver and lastly 357 Mag.

This is a pretty gun and I call it my "Pimp Pistol" because that is what I believe a Pimp would carry. Lots of flash and gold :>)

The reason I put the question on this forum is that I can not find any info on the Internet about this model and I wanted to find out how the price looks. I want to find details about the 'custom' features.

Price is ok, not great, but ok. It would be easy enough to change the grips and trigger
to tone it down a mite, the PT 1911 pistols seem to be reliable and accurate enough
if you want another .45. On the Taurus, I like the checkered front strap, beavertail grip safety, lowered ejection port, sights are good, the only issue I had with a stainless one is the slide stop had a piece of grit under it and until I figured it out it would not lock the slide back after the last round was fired.

I got the 911 in the same Liberace Model, they are about as pretty as a gun can get and still be considered a shooter.
