Went to a gunshow a few weekends ago...

And it wasn't the greatest adventure I have been on. Everything was overpriced and there wasn't a large selection of anything except mostly old beat up lever actions. I found one PTR-91 that could have been a good buy with all that was included but I didn't want to dish out the money for it. I probably spent about 30 minutes going around to all the tables looking for a few items or guns I might be interested in but I didn't see any of what I was looking for. O well, maybe it will get better the next time I go.

What city was the GS in? My half and I are just beginning to explore NM and have spent most of our time in the north aroun Taos and Red River, and I've noticed there's not much if anything in the way of gunshops between those two. Any decent gunshops up that way?

Remember also at gun shows that you are expected to deal. If a dealer wants $60 for an item, he needs to mark it $80. That is just the nature of the beast. Sometimes you get a show that just has nothing to interest you though...

The show was in Las Cruces. I know there are a few up north in Albuquerque every once in a while and those are probably bigger.

I totally forgot about that dealing part!! I will have to go to the next one and see if I can't do some bargaining. But, I do have to find something I like! LOL!

Last gun show in Albuquerque was a while back, was not too happen - to many AR's and they were basic or advance, the majority of them were over priced. Ammo too! I took about 30 minutes and thru the place.

Actually I was at the October Albuquerque show and I didn't think it was bad. I bought two guns and a bag full of small goodies (1907 sling for $10, bag full of Springfield stripper clips for $8, few other small items) and a bunch of ammo boxes. I also saw several items I would liked to have had but ran out of green stuff before making it all the way around the show.

And of course there was the jerky and nuts........

I love those Roasted nuts they sell, since they do remain my wife and I of the German roasted nuts we would get the biggest bag. Next, show from checking American Rifleman is first week in March, I think!

We or just me usually go on a Sunday, not much remaining that catches the eye or the wallet!
