hi all. jbrown here from portland, oregon. just joined and thought i would stop by and do my intro.
i am 32 and have been shooting off and on since i was pretty young. (all the way back to my first bb gun when i was 11 or 12 years old). these days i have a remington 700 in .30-06, a rem 870 12 gauge, a ruger security six .357 mag, and a crappy little american arms cx-.22 (looks like a walther ppk knock off) that i use for plinking.
my experience so far has just been lots and lots of target shooting and a ton of hand thrown clay pigeons, i am a competent shooter, yet i haven't gotten into hunting as i didn't come from a hunting family really. i was thinking about trying for a deer tag (i think it's a lottery based thing here in oregon) next year or maybe the year after that. for now i just go to the range or my favorite shooting spot out in the woods as often as i can.
