Shooting range in NM??

Does anybody here know of any shooting ranges in or near Carlsbad, NM? My sister-in-law suggested I bring some of my stuff over and teach her how to shoot.

Is NM anything like AZ with a bunch of open BLM land? When I lived in Tucson, we used to go out to the desert to shoot.

Iv'e driven through NM looks like a bunch of open ground.

Carlsbad is literally in the middle of nowhere. You should be able to drive a few miles out of town to the north and be fine. Southwest of the town is the national park.

When I lived in New Mexico it was a 20 minute drive to get to nowhere, add about 10 minutes to get to the middle of nowhere. We just made sure there was enough of a hill for a backstop and nothing else downrange.
