I saw one busted in the middle like that in a road construction zone on Hwy. 51 in Merrill last year, the hi-way was swarming with State Patrol.

Most bizarre thing I've ever seen w/trucks was one night on I-70 in eastern CO, I think I saw SIX big rigs laying on their sides in the eastbound side of the highway. It was a stormy night and the wind just slapped 'em over on their sides. I didn't see any go down, but it was bizarre nonetheless to see 'em laying in the road like that.

Truckin' ain't for me, thanks.

We had a crash several years ago on I-35 just south of the Kansas line that woulda made these guys cry like children. Beer truck crossed the median and head on'd a bull hauler.....forever after known as the Steak and Ale crash.

Wink

I'm wondering if the rear sets of tires were moved all the way forward if it was a slider type of trailer??? Usually a trailer will carry that amount of weight...unless there's something not set up correctly. Trailer could have had a broken lower rail (s), too, allowing it to buckle with a full load.

Several years ago I did service work on semi-trailers for Fruehaul during summers. It could have been much worse...like you could have been carrying a load of beef hanging on hooks inside...and that gets stinking nasty, and much more, after they're wrecked. We had to fix anything that was drug into the repair shop. Most were drug through a steam bath room before they were brought into the repair shop.

when i used to drive over the road, there was a joke going around about what's more dangerous black ice or a werner driver? glad to see that you're not hurt.
about two yrs. ago at a rohm&haas chemical plant here in lousville a trl. broke in the middle like that, but after the investigation it was found to be loaded with over 60,000 lbs. of drums. the guy loading it was adding the weight wrong, he was adding the kilo's instead of the lbs.

Yes the wheels were slid all the way back. The brewery won't load them unless they are. Because we only hall it a mile up the road we don't slide them forward. It's up to the company drivers to do that. If they don't slide them back before they drop it then we charge them because we have to do it before they get loaded.
Most of the beer was not harmed. lol No I didn't get any of it.

Glad you weren't hurt and if it had to happen, it happened there, not on the road. Take care.
