Addictions

I'm addicted to Gun and Game!! But I'm really addicted to sun flower seeds lately since I put the cigarettes down and started using the patch.I have eaten so many(1 BIG bag in two days) that my tongue hurts from the salt.I don't know why I keep eating and buying something that I know is going to tear my tongue up.I think I'm just being mean to myself.I need help...lol

Are you addicted to anything that you know is going to leave you hurting? LOL

Going off nicotine

can produce all sorts of chemical ups and downs. Don't worry.
This craving will pass as your body works toward a new and normal chemcal balance. Your tongue will return to normal.

Sweetie why not buy the shelled unsalted seeds instead. I've read where sunflower seeds have a chemical that memic's a chemical in cigs to help reduce the craveings for cigaretts.
The article said the type I mentioned above are best and besides you don't need all that salt...A.H

You can replace the oral fixation of cigarrettes with Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pops or Dum-Dums lolly's

Just let us know how many licks it takes to get to the center, willya??

Grats on stopping the addiction
Now you'll be able to afford more Guns & Ammo

According to my wife I am addicted to gun and game and guns in general. I admit that I do have a gun addiction. As far as food is concerned I used to be addicted to sunflower seeds and they tore up my mouth. I would put a hand full of seeds in my mouth all at once and then suck the salt off and one at a time crack the shell and eat the seeds. I went to my Dentist and he asked me if I chewed tobacco because my gums and cheek were a mess. I still have a scar on the inside of my mouth from them. I haven't had any since because I know once a eat a few it's all over and i'll be back to chewing them.
A.H. I tried just eating the sunflower seeds that are already shelled and it's just not the same. Half the fun of eating them is cracking the shell.

Congrats on quitting smoking. Keep it up.

Might I suggest drinking A LOT OF WATER. Helps to flush the nicotine out of your system. If you have access to a sauna or hot tub that works to sweat it out. Sauna better then hot tub obviously. The sooner you can get it out of your system the easier it gets and is. Again, obviously.

But CONGRATS on your efforts thus far...

Try celery sticks with cream cheese, apples dipped in fruit yogurt or caramel, baby carrots, chewing gum, etc......

I have been smoke-free for just about 7 months myself and I can attest to all that I mentioned above, LOL.......hang in there!

The physical addiction lasts less than a week. It's the habit that hard to break. Coffee, meals, telephone rings, you answer and you're looking for the smokes. Start the car and reach for the smokes. I craved chocolate when I quit the smokes. Don't do what I did and start chewing. Anymore I do very little chewing. I take out about as much as your sunflower seed and just chew it and swallow it with no spitting. Maybe I need the patch! Hope all is well girl. I've been in the woods for the past 6 weeks and out of touch.

Congrats on giving up the heaters. This thanksgiving day will be 4 yrs smoke free for me.
I used cinnamon hard candy(sugar free) to keep the mouth busy. i tried to stay away from the seeds, raises heck with the blood pressure.
The patch never worked for me, the doc gave me chantex, worked good for me once you got past the side effects. lol
Gook luck...its tough to quit be you'll be much happier and healthier once the monkey is off your back.

Giving up the booze was alot easier than giving up the wimmin' -- but we'll just call it a work in progress (it's ALWAYS free to look ). Taught the wife how to shoot so's I'd better mind my Ps and Qs.

I'm likely addicted to working out and guns/ammo/shooting. I do like my coffee too. But these are relatively healthy compared to other things.

Maybe bike riding or walking would help ? Or carrot snacks and the like been mentioned before. Reloading might be fun too if you already aren't doing it.

I was addicted to booze, cigarettes, fast wimmin and guns. Then I got a girlfriend and there went the wimmin. Then she moved in with me and there went all of my booze. I've been married to her now for 19 loooong years (and she has since been promoted to Chief of Smoke. I swear I used to be in charge). I've been able to hold onto my guns, but she's been looking at them real hard !! So I guess cigs is gonna have to be next, LOL !! Either that or i'm gonna hire out at Scotty and CGO's as Camp Cook and Chief Bottle Washer !!

Try some Spitz brand sunflower seeds, they come in different flavors. Take your time eating them and they won't tear your mouth up so bad. I love those things.
