I'm very new to the whole rifle thing.

What is the value of this gun?
What should I look for when I get a chance to inspect it?
Are there any markings I should be looking for?
What is the cost of ammo for an AK-47?

Are you looking to buy an AK or are you looking to purchase this specific rifle in the photo?

With the price drops right now you can get top of the line Arsenals via KVAR INC.'s Web site for under 500.

A SAR-1 should be in the 300-400 range with the way prices are currently. Things to check are the gas tube and front sight block for any cant issues. Besides that do any pre-purchase inspections you wold do on any used rifle. There are no specific markings on SAR-1's. A triangle on the trunion of a GP1975 indicates that it came from a demilled kit.

That is kind of a so-so price with the prices of AK's out there atm.
