After several days of hunting, I finally was able to shoot a doe with my muzzle loader, CVA Buckhorn w/ open sights. I was walking along a game trail when I saw the doe, I lined up the sights and boom heart shot from 80 yds off hand. She weighed about 150 lbs dressed. Out of the 15 deer I have shot, bow excluded, she was the first one I have had to track, she ran about 250 yards, but it was in the direction that I parked so I only had to drag her .5 mile or so. Sorry no pics, haven't got my camera back from being repaired yet.
I am pumped, so far this year, every animal i have shot is a first: first bear, first deer with bow, first rabbit, and first deer with a muzzle loader. And there is still time for me to get a muley buck and an elk.
I've been wanting to get a muzzleloader for a while now, but I missed Kentucky muzzleleader season, so I guess I'll wait until I can use it to its full potential.

If I waited for ML season to hunt with one, it would be a long wait since we don't have one here, but it sure was cool to do something different.
