Just about the same time the news about the idiot at Fort Hood was breaking, there was also a story about another idiot in Cleveland who has killed at least 11 or 12 women by inviting them into his home where he strangled them and then buried them in his yard. This in the middle of an urban residential neighborhood.
Why is it that this mass murderer/serial killer is not getting the national attention that is given to the guy who used a gun instead of just his hands? Media bias perhaps??

Last I heard, the shooter had no connection with the violent segments of the Muslim faith. I heard he had contacted one Imam, but the conversation was pretty generic.
This serial killer has killed just about as many people, albeit over a longer period. The local media are comparing him to Bundy and Gacy, who seemed to generate a lot of national news.
He lived next to a meat shop that sold fresh home-made sausage and often invited neighborhood folks to have some barbeque with him. Some of the bodies were in pieces, but there has been no mention of anyone eating the victims, either intentionally or unknowingly. I suppose something like that would generate more interest from the guts, gross, and gore set.

I wonder if maybe it could be that we can surmise that a serial killer who would do such things is probably a psychological anomaly that ended up doing what he did because he was seriously mentally ill, however the other CHOSE his religion, joined the military to reap the educational benefits, CHOSE to be an enemy, and CHOSE to kill those who trusted him in their presence. I don't find it hard at all to focus the attention on somebody who represents a group of people who, without the defense of mental illness, choose to be deceitful enemies and wreak havoc at every opportunity. Our defense against nutcases is their rarity. Our defense against a large group of intolerant islamic fundamentalists needs a more proactive approach. That approach may not be tasteful to everybody, but it beats hell out of standing by like sheep and letting them take over.

Well, not to put too fine a point on it, lets count how many world religions teach it's adherents to kill all infidels, even if it takes encouraging kids to commit suicide, and celibrate when it happens.
First one that comes to mind are the gentle followers of Allah, the merciful, and Muhammed, peace be on him.
Then there's ........ well, come on, maybe there is another, somewhere?

Same as when the Spanich Conquistadores came to the New World and tried to convert the Natives to Christianity or killed them for not accepting Christ. When religion gets in the mix everyone thinks God is on THEIR side and can do no wrong.

The story about the guy in Ohio broke about 3-4 days before the Ft. Hood thing. There was quite a bit of coverage on it until the terrorist attack on Ft. Hood.

Yep - Christianity has it's share of blood on it's hands, courtesy of various Popes and other men using the religion to spur their own agendas.
