minnow net, $5.00 at Dicks sporting goods, plus a scrap piece of wood.

Very innovative! :-) Looks like it works great on a bench. I was thinking something more mobile, something that attaches to the rifle, or something that goes with me in the field.

As a side-note: Perhaps the finest brass-catching configuration I have yet to see is the 5.7 upper for the AR platform, which has a top-loading 50rd mag - that ejects down the mag well. Innovation? pull the follower and spring from a 30rd standard AR mag, insert in mag well .. and, boom, you have a very effective brass catching system... that is cool.

Bet that minnow net is going to get a little "HOLEY" after catching a few .223,s.No experience,(well,a few in wrong places)but I've heard those cases are hot enough to melt plastic. ,,,sam.

Just to finish off the original thought - there is NO WAY that the Hornady folks were able to use a 308Win case trimmed to 2.005 with the #3037 bullet and get an OAL of 2.780". The cannelure would be WELL out of the case mouth in that configuration.

It just doesn't work. If their action needed 2.780" OAL, they would have to either use longer brass or a different bullet. That's my conclusion, although I may be wrong - but I dont think so. I just can't see it from here.

They are definitely hot enough to inspire some funky dance moves when they inadvertently end up inside your shirt! :-)

they get just hot enough to get stuck to the net slightly at times. but so far with at least 1,000 thru it she still works fine. it holds up better than my fingers do when it comes to hot brass.

there's an entertaining video on YouTube of a young gal shooting a bunch of different guns and catching one in the same place. No puppies unleased but some nice dancing.

or if that link is off, search for "hot casing down bra"

actually some cool shooting video. she shoots 25, 22, 40, 357, 44M and then some unnamed auto for the dance moves
