I know very littel about this platform, other than it is 7.62 NATO. To me as a casual observer the FAL looks a lot like the G3, and the CETME. Are they all variants of the same rifle like the AK/AKM'S, or are they completly diffrent?

I know that some are from Spain, & Agentina, and others are from the actual FN factory in Belgum.

The FAL is a totally different Platform from the G3/Cetme , which is The HK Platform in use...
The AR-15 is closer to the FAL...

So, the FN/FAL is seperat and apart from the G3/CETME. The G3 is a H&K, and the CETME is a Spanish G3? But all are 7.62 NATO?

Yes...all are 7.62 Nato...

Actually the FN-FAL is more like the AR-15 in how it pivots to open , remove the bolt and carrier ,etc, and with the recoil spring in the Buttstock..
It has a Short stroke piston Gas tube assy that are just like what is now coming out on the Ar-15's or available as an add on kit !
