My mom usually makes all or a combo of the following.

Smoked or baked turkey
Ham
Baked chicken or cornish hens
Sweet potatoes
Dressing
Turnip/mustard greens (we don't do green beans and I prefer greens anyway)
Giblet gravy
mac n cheese
Rolls
Potato salad
Rum cake
Key lime pie
Pecan pie
Sweet potato pie
Pound cake
Cranberry sauce
Every now and then a fruit salad with whipped cream and nuts
Sweet tea with lemon

Our thanksgiving

We just got to our new base and not sure what we are doing for thanksgiving, I have always had dinner with my family, but we are far away from them now, thanksgiving has always been special to me since I was born on thanksgiving..but I would be happy with having some dinner with my husband and going shooting, that would be a fun thanksgiving for me

Hey A. H. thats taking all the fun out of it. The cooking and smells wafting though the house are a big part of what makes my Thanksgiving very special. Then I can relive it for the next few days while eating turkey sandwiches and cold dressing, yumm.

WOW!, what a delicious feast...

...to draw family and other loved ones in with.

Reminds me of yesteryear...

...when my mom was alive and would prepare for us a similar Thanksgiving feast, with her generous love and kindness for family and others.
