I thought I was right....

About the more restrictive policies of not carrying on base/post happening during the klinton regime:

EDITORIAL: End Clinton-era military base gun ban - Washington Times

Although I do think we were required to register firearms in the late 80's and they generally didn't want them in the VOQ's (although keeping a pistol in car in AZ was quite alright).

Guess my memory isn't as bad as I thought it was

It's curious that Clinton was deemed to be anti-military and now even Obama is perceived to be the same way. Yet, when GW Bush had 8 years in office and was considered to be extremely pro-military, he made the descision not to overturn the regulation that Clinton put in place. If Clinton thought it to be necessary and his successor, GW Bush thought it to be necessary, why on Earth would Obama not think it necessary?

Are you asking us to read idiots' minds? J/K, I see what you are questioning, but I have no theories. Who knows. But I'll bet they all wish they had changed the law.

Neither Bush was very actively pro-gun, but neither was actively anti-gun like Klinton or Barack Hussein.
