Throws out of window.
House winds up empty.
Man goes to rifle hanging over fireplace, looks at top of barrel,
reads, "HENRY RIFLE MADE IN AMERICA".
Man puts rifle back over fireplace.

That is a great commercial. Unfortunately, if we decided to go only with products made in America, our homes, offices, schools, and other public building would look like the house in this commercial.

Not for long. If there was a strong demand for American made products the capitalist system would provide the products in no time. unfortunatly the demand is not there people would rather not pay a little more even if it means jobs for Americans.

All but one of my guns is Made in America. And a lot of it's parts are Made in America due to whatever rules on milsurp rifles there is out there. Someone is now making US made FALs, so I might have to pick one of those up.
My Ford truck is interesting. It has a French transmission and a Swedish engine. ??? And I won't buy a Toyota again after the last one I had. Feh.
As long as it is not made in China then it does not bother me to much. I go out of my way to make sure that I do not buy anything from that craphole of a country. Can anyone point out something that is made in China that is not a piece of crap? If there is I have not come across it yet. mabye they should have stuck to making fake doogie poop and puke like they use to. They were good at that at least.

For a culture that has been around for thousands of years they have invented, and discovered a lot more than people give them credit for. The below is only a small partial list.
Inventions from China,
The big four that everyone usually thinks of first are
paper, the compass,gunpowder, and printing.
But they also had the first interstate system and plumbing long before the Romans did.
Also the blast furnace and other metal making technology, paper money, wooden coffins, water and land mines, hand grenades, iron cast bombs, the first firearm <-- Thats a big one
The use of salt to preserve meat, the mechanical belt drive, the tooth brush, separated bulkhead water compartments as flood containment measures on ships, the use of chromium to coat weapons, civil service tests to qualify for public office, forensic entomology, the use of natural gas as fuel sources, the mathematical concept of negative numbers,toilet paper,
Oh and pasta was a Chinese invention not an Italian one.

No doubt they are smart industrious little fellas, but I still don't want everything I buy to be made by them.

Lately, when shopping I have started looking at the bottoms, and you can find things made in the USA, in most places.
My wife has caught me looking a time or two at other bottoms too. LOL!

I have a couple of antique Chinese silk screens that are amazing. Got them from my folks who bought them in Hong Kong before the Reds took over. And this really cool buffet thing.
