Scope info

A few years back, I bought an M1A. It came with an accessory list, on which was Springfield 6-20x56 Mil Dot Government Model scope. I didn't find an acceptable riser for the stock, so the scope went back in the box until earlier this year. I mounted it on a DPMS LR308. It has found a very good home!! On the scopes turrets there are small allen screws. I assume they are there for some sort of adjustment.... Can anybody fill me in??

Thanks in advance.

The Small allen screw's on the Turret's are to lock the Knob's from Turning ... On Some Scope's the Set Screw are located on the outer part of the Turret and on some scope's I've seen them lock the Adjustment part on the inside.

Thanks for the info. Seems to make sense...now that you've pointed it out. All I can say is that it sure works well on that LR308!

You may want to go over to m14firingline.com and search the SA scope. I appears to have a very high failure rate. I'm not sure if SA still offers a repair service for them. I do know they stopped selling them because of the issues they had. If yours is NIB you can get a very high price for it on evil bay. Lot of guys want a SA scope for their safe queens. If you plan a lot of shooting you may want to think about replacing it.
