I damn near killed a giant doe with my truck on the way home tonight. The minute I come around the last corner before I hit my driveway, and once my bright lights illuminate the opposite side of the road from where she is, she leaps at least seven feet in the air not 15 feet in front of me and lands on the other side. She was one of the largest does i've ever seen. She would have done some serious damage to my truck if she would have hit it. I wiped some sweat off my brow after that one, I can tell you.

Good luck, but I sincerely hope you were kidding when you said you had your rifle loaded and in it's case. Here in NY, that's a major no-no, as the gun has to be unloaded as well as the mag. unloaded while transporting. Anyways, good luck!!!!

HI...I case my gun because when I arrive at the woods it gets latched down to the 4 wheeler. I want to keep mud and dirt off of it.

This may be Interesting several years ago the Arknasas Game and Fish Commishion had a law passed that everyone going hunting must have there guns cased while in transit.

You could of heard the uproar around the world over that and of course they removed the law.
So we don't have to case our guns, but I do when I'm useing my 4-wheeler.

Thanks to everyone who posted .

I made it to my tent hunting blind right at the crack of dawn. It had been being pretty cold in the mornings this week but this morning was'nt so cold.
I got settled in the blind and just looked out of the 3 windows and soon life appeared, birds, squirrels and noise's you here in the woods.

At 7:20 I see movement so I get ready with my Hawkeye 308 in case it's a Buck deer.
It's comeing right at me and it has horns. YIPPEE !!!! But is it legal ?

YIPPEE It is !!!! So I go to looking for shooting lanes and I notice when he makes his way to in front of my stand I'll pop him.

When he arrived 30 to 35 yards in front of my stand I make this squeek sound out of the corner of my mouth... A Squeek I've learned works better than a whistle because a lot of birds and critters squeek and so the Deer's are less alert but it does stop them in there tracks.

How many here just squeeked out of the corner of there mouth after readig the above ???

Anyway I took steady aim and blasted that Buck Deer. He wheeled around, stumbled and ran about 25 yards and did a flip !!! I was watching him and his head went down to the ground and he did a summer saw or what ever you call flippin end to end.

He got still and died. sniff sniff...I thought I stay in my blind and lit up a cig...I know it's a bad habit to smoke and I'd quit but I'm weak minded.

After I get done smok'in I ease out of the blind and quietly make my way over to the Buck deer.
He's dead.
So I count his points and there are 7 of them.

He wasn't that big atlerd or body and I guess he was 2 to 3 years old.
I cut his Nads and guts out for other wildlife to enjoy and went and got my 4-wheeler and tied a rope around his rack and drug him to an embankment where I could pull up sideways to it. The 4 foot bank was the perfect height to drag the Buck deer onto the front rack of my 4-wheeler.

I'm tired of typeing...I took him to the proccessor ...A.H

Good Job AH!
I had a good morning...could have shot a doe, but was letting my wife get her...she never could get a shot because of brush, or the doe would have her butt to us. I was about to shoot her myself...when she walked back into the brush. LOL I reckon me being a foot taller then her gives me a better sight/shot angle!
