Not yet...passed on a doe yesterday, trying to give my wife the shot. I have time...it's ten days and I hunt every day of it, so the odds are in my favor! Heck..I still got muzzleloader season too!

I took a kid from our church out opening weekend, and that was the first chance I had to hunt all year. We saw 3 does, but they never did give him a shot. We were all set to go this morning until my wife became sick. Now I'm at home taking care of junior. Oh well, I have the rest of bow season to go yet.

I had a great season with alot of close calls with some good bucks but I want to fill my freezer of free deer meat. Now Im in bowhunting mode. Lookin for MR BIG.
Welp I got a 7 pt. Buck open'in morning. The rack was small. Was'nt in my pop up hunting blind 45 minutes. I was puffing away on a cigarette and I glanced off to my right and I see movement.
As I continued to look I see it's a deer and it has antlers !!! I threw down my weed and grab my rifle off my lap and went to looking to see if he had 3 pt's on one side. He Did !!!
Since he was headed in my direction I waited until he got in front of me broadside.
To stop him I made this Lil squeak that I make all the time out the corner left side of mouth.
When he heard that squeak he stopped and became solid like a statue right smack dab in front of my blind !!!
I took steady aim and pulled the trigger, the buck went down and jumped back up in a half a second.
He ran 20 yards, stumbled, his head went down and he did a summer saw, end over end. That was cool.
He became motionless and I put out the cig that was on the ground and lit another one and half way smokeing it I put it out and went to see the gift I was so blessed to harvest.
Did not get anything on opening weekend. But on Thursday, went to help one of the sons who got two, a doe and button buck, when I had just told him to be quiet because sometimes you see one when it is most inconvenient. A very nice 8 pointer came trotting through the woods, discarded my knife and sheath, grabbed the rifle, and when he stopped, dropped him at 20 yards. Took about 10 minutes to find the knife and sheath!!!!!
