Idiots

Neighbors moved in about a year ago. Town folk and this is ranch
and forest area. They went out and got a new and real loud 4 wheeler
the other day.

Last night from 6-9pm they were running up and down the roads in the
area. Did I mention it was loud ? Real loud.

This morning they started around 8am. About 8:30 I went down and had
a chat with them. Explained that this was opening weekend of deer
season and they've been real lucky none of the good ol boys have shot
them yet for spooking the deer. They didn't get it. I explained it a bit
more and they finally caught on.

LOL I hate when people do stuff like that...especially when they are "hunters" too...I guess some folks are to lazy to walk!

I can sympathize because I've got a neighbor just like that. Anytime we're outside for a family get together, he takes his hot rod loud a** 4 wheeler and does doughnuts in the road.

I'm amazed when people from the city come out to the country. They act like no one else is around and that all the property is just open to the public to hunt and drive on. Don't know how many times people like that have practically walked through my parents back yard while rabbit hunting.

As they were running the roads without lights last night I figured they would kill
themselves. Roads here are real tight curves and hills. I even thought about
waiting for them and firing off the 12g as they passed. My wife didn't like that
idea and voted it down.

I don't know how you could make it look like self defense if you shot one of them

"Some" states it ain't legal to ride a 3 or 4 wheeler on a road, even a country dirt road. Check with your sheriff's office.

Yep, hate the stupid ones. Got a young idiot here that rides a 4-wheeler down the roads fast - we have a blind corner at one end of our street - one day he;ll meet a car or truck coming round the bend. THAT's gonna hurt.....

At my buddy's hunting lease last evening (after Thanksgving Dinner) we were in our deer stands, waiting on Bambi. Well within earshot there was a family group (relatives of one leeser) who were whooping, hollering, shooting a .22 rifle and generally scaring any self-respecting cloven-hoofed biped off for miles around......
Ruined our hunt that day.

It's not legal here but I'm not going to call the law and complain.
I ride mine on the road also while checking fence lines, etc..

It's not legal to ride ATVs, either 3 or 4 wheelers, on public roads here. I mean, if it's a couple of hundred years to a trail or something like that no one is going to object; but if it's an idiot kid roaring around the block on one again and again, that's something else.

We used to have neighbors a block away who had a 12 year old that rode a 4 wheeler incessantly. The deputies spoke with his parents a couple of times. When the riding didn't stop, the Sheriff confiscated the 4-wheeler. I believe there was an injunction issued against the parents before the noisemaker was confiscated, but I'm not sure of that. The kid grew up and bought himself a hot rod, but at least he doesn't ride that around and around the block!

If they keep riding around armed with a .22 and with the lights out, they'll eventually run into a poacher who is doing the same thing...or a wildlife officer looking for poachers. If they're raising hell and being reckless, they'll eventually end up dead or a quadriplegic according to my wife who is a nurse and who worked at a university hospital in Savannah, Georgia. She said that a lot of paralyzes was caused by broken backs and broken necks from four wheelers being handled recklessly.

There's a horse azz out where I live in the country that will wait for the prettest sunshiney days to burn pine straw, which stinks, smokes up the air and when it smolders it's 20 times worst.
Me and my hunting buddy who lives down below me have discussed hideing a canister of gun powder in his pile for when he burns again. LOL
