my thinking is.
i can always buy another levergun.
but i am not always going to have the opportunity to have access to a fully equipped garage and a hot rod mechanic to do the technical stuff.

All the best in your latest endeavor...
getting the engine and tranny for a song was the only way i could do this.
the body cost 75 bucks.
the engine had 90,000 miles on it when the van it was in got hit by another car.
then it got rebuilt and given to me.
i want to put a f-100 p/u front end in it because it will be easy and cheap.

If I may use this analogy...
...it's like a dealer getting a new user hooked on some freebies.
Thereafter, once hooked, the prices for product rise sharply...
...and, somehow the hole widens and deepens exponentially.
However, it's a very satisfying hobby for those involved...
...there being three of my brothers who've sunk mini fortunes into their hobby cars/trucks.

the reason we are sure of building this for under 3 grand is twofold.
1 he has already built a dozen cars and half of them were under $3000
2 we already have a free engine ,tranny and rear end.

no.1 important rule of the road.
always have something cool playing on the stereo.
the reason?
when they find you picturesquely draped over the hood of your smoking, twisted ,badass hotrod at the bottom of dead mans curve.
muskrat love BETTER not be coming out of the wreckage!
