INVASION -Your Town Under Attack

It finnally happened. They invaded your State and City. There are a lot of creative people on here. What do you do? Sit in your basement and cry? Or do you have enough balls to go out fighting?

I recieve intel the enemy is invading.

I dress rapidly black t-shirt, camo ripstop nylon pants, camo jungle boots. Possibly being in a firefight means risking incoming fire. I slap on my bullit proof vest. Not a vest made of Zylon or Goldflex which degrade from humidity and light over time. Kevlar Aramid is the only way to go. To stop most handgun rounds Level IIIA armor with a Level IV rifle protection titanium shock plate. I belt on my camo police tactical model vest ($69 sportsmans guide). I employ my Peltor electronic shooting muffs. Wearing the Peltors I can clearly hear a whispered conversation in the next room while cancelling out gunfire. Snapping them around my neck for the time being. It takes longer to lace the jungle boots than it takes to dress rapidly. Normally 15 seconds to dress when using slip on boots.

I slide my M1A from under the bed. I pull the ammo can of preloaded 15 round .308 magazines. Stocking the pockets of the tack vest. I include as many mags of .45 I can fit along with a bag of .357 on moon clips. Deciding that the shotgun will be too much weight with the ammo for it I regretfully leave the shot slinger the 00 buck and 2 1/2 slugs.

The 1911 .45 is locked and racked then strapped in the vest in its built in holster. The S&W 681 .357 in the holster is pulled the cylinder is swung open and checked. Then it's slid back into the holster and then into the small of my back. Feeling solid there.

Rapidily exiting the house I lock and load the M1A while on the run heading for the high ground. I do a tap tug of the mag verifing it is locked in. After racking the round I pull open the bolt and placing my finger on the round without even looking I know it is loaded. Let the bolt close and keep jogging. When the crest of the hill is acended I can see the enemy advancing up the highway.

Taking a position I wait for them to come into range aiming into the middle of the colums. I stop and get into my mindset taking a deep breath. I think to myself "Always cheat, always win, the only unfair fight is the one you lose." There is a big difference in being in a fight and going to a fight. You get caught in a fight with a handgun, you go to a fight with a rifle.

As I lay prone I take out my .45 ejecting the mag doing a tap tug then a blind check of the loaded round never taking my eyes off the advancing enemy. Replacing the .45 in the holster and locking the strap with the velcro. I pick up the M1A feeling the 11.5 pounds of stock and steel in my hands. Why fight with a .45 when you can nail them with a .308.

I take a bead on a target in the middle of the column. This will create the most confusion in my enemys minds. I pull back on the trigger then THUMP the target falls. I immedately back out of my position. Stand when conceled from the enemy and start jogging through the trees.

In a few short minutes I find another position and stand behind a tree this time. I lean against the tree using it for a rest. Again I wait for the column locate a target and take the shot. This time I pick a target on the opposite side of the column from me. The target falls but I am jogging ahead again. By this time I am closing in on the Walmart where the local militia is formed to repel the invading enemy.

I take up another position and watch as some soldiers split off into the trees on the other side of the highway looking for the sniper.
I watch as one soldier points out and yells commands where the scouts are to go.
I target this enemy and wait, calming myself, waiting for the target to
calm as well. I punch another .308 out and touch the officier. he crumples. The first one to run to him I target next and drop that one as well. I see some soldiers look in my direction.

Off and running again looking for the next concelment. This time I get ahead enough to cross the highway where I cant be seen knowing they would have finally figured where these shots have come from. On this side is a railroad in a cut. I wait crouched next to the tracks. Soon the two scouts come into view. I target one and drop him. Then snap to the other scout and drop him as well.

I change mags. A full one will be needed this time. I take up a position in this cut and target the first soldier I see marching down the highway. Thump, and another falls. I open up on the column shooting into the middle of them and empty the mag. They drop from fright or from lead. They open up in my general direction. They could not see me because I was so low to the ground. I take off running while they crawl for cover. I drop the empty mag and lock another in. Tap tug, check the breech and never stop jogging away.

I reach the Wallmart greet the defenders gathered there share my intel and again take up a position of opportunity.
My score 7 confirmed kills.
Up to 30 out of action dead or wounded.
Leaves only 470 more.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into... the Twilight Zone.

I want to know who the enemy is first. If it's the French or Italians we have NOTHING
to worry about...

P.S. I forgot to add the ARVN'S to the above list...

Well,

I would dress and act as neutral and, hopefully, "invisible" as possible while trying to make contact with any developing resistance. I might or might not be able to physically join with the resistance depending on my location but would work with them in any capacity as felt needed.

Wella I suppose if'in somebody was gonna invade or did invade my local, I'd put on camo overalls and pull out Mr: Nasty and then I'd fill up a toe sack of magazines.
Opp's forgot my Boonie cap...Now me and some friends would go dig up some fireworks we been sit'in on for a spell and then we'd go play War Games.

Understanding the invaders would prolly be well equiped, much so better than us.
My 3rd. cuzzin Seamor made a neat Lil device that will knock out there communications's.

I just hope the invaders told there Momma's good by cause they'll never make it back home or be seen again.

Us country boy's will survive...A.H

After I wake up from this dream, which was likely induced by watching too many movies the night before, I crawl slowly out of bed, making sure not to wake the kids or the wife, and I stealthfully make my way towards the kitchen.

Once in the kitchen, I peer from cupboard to cupboard, pondering my next move, careful as to make the right choice, as it will be a day altering decision. My mind yearns for the sweet goodness of cereal, but my body craves that caffeine high from coffee.

On this morning, I decide to pour myself a bowl of cereal, as it appears to be the lesser of two evils at this point. Very carefully, I open the cupboard, and grab the bag of "Rice Krispies", making sure not to russle the bag too much in the silent confines of the house.

After this is done, I pick up a bowl from beside the sink (it is white with a blue stripe around the rim) and I place it on the table. My next move is to gently pour the cereal into the bowl I selected, it is of critical importance NOT to spill any cereal or make any noise.

Once this tedious task is complete, I peek out the kitchen window, and see that the sun is just beginning to shine it's awesome light upon this new day. After a moment, something grabs my attention, it is the sound of foot steps in the hallway, I freeze, it must be one of the kids getting up to use the restroom.

The terror slithers it's way up my spine, and seizes it in a grip of pure horror, not unlike a snake choking the life out of it's prey. My bowl is full, but I have not added the milk yet, my mission of stealth appears to be in jeopardy............

TO BE CONTINUED

You stole a lot of this from Boston T. Party's Molon Labe book, where the homeowner fights off a SWAT team.

It has now been three hours since I received my call that THEY are invading. Dressed in my best old hunting clothes, I can feel sweat trickle down my back. Now wishing that I had more than a 308 hunting rifle, nevertheless, I look down to admire the sun dancing on the wood. I have been positioned here (north of my home to the nearest wooded area) for nearly three hours and so far nothing.....then a small flicker to my left......I turn quickly to see a man who looks to be dressed like a ninja with an emblem that I don't recognize, I attempt to bring my rifle up, but it is as if it were stuck...it takes effort to move it at all.....I feel fear as I watch my combatant bring his rifle up....and then......I feel my body relax and realize I have loaded up my own pants. I see haze and hear a voice, but it is a familiar voice....suddenly I am jolted awake in my own bed......delighted to be alive.....yet...the realization that I have indeed loaded myself up quickly becomes a reality........this is going to be a long long day.

Midas - I quit eating Rice Krispies for just that reason. You get interrupted and they turn to pablum. Can you suggest a cereal that will "hold up" to milk????
Curious in KC

Forty, I will need to do further experiments to find the "right" cereal, that is a proper combination of good taste, and ability to hold up to extreme milk saturation without severe deterioration.

Let me know as the only thing I have found so far is "puffed rice" which seems to have a coating that acts like a milk repellent.

You may be on to something here, I will obtain some of this so called "puffed rice" and conduct a thorough investigation into it's milk resisting abilities, and will report he findings to my fellow G&G'ers.

It could end up saving someone's breakfast!
