I agree that my shot wasn't Ideal,and I did go for the vitals at 30 yards,but she was moving right to left and I took the shot.Her legs went out all 4 directions and she dropped with a loud moan,then I went down the hill to her and was about to do a finishing shot when she stopped breathing.

I would definitely move the shot forward some, lower wouldn't hurt, but definitely forward. The again if you're shooting it with a cannon, just try not to blow off all your meat!

I am not disagreeing,but I did put my crosshairs right on the vitals,I missed and got lucky and dropped my 2nd deer ever.Last year was my first hunt and the same thing happened.I shot for the vitals,got the neck instead and dropped it instantly.
