Outstanding larmus! How hard was it to make your own? I've been kicking around the idea of that with the ABU pattern.

| ... in 2002 I was deployed to an RAF base in Cyprus. While I was there, there was a Rugby tournament that hosted quite a few nations including Scottish players.
... after the tournament, they came to the same pub a lot of us frequented and as Scots and G.I.'s do, drank well in large amounts of liquor i.e. Newcastle, Fosters, Stella, Strongbow, etc.
... these Scots were wearing kilts and got a little crazy ... which included a Scot, his finger and another Scottish guys ... er, well you get the point.
... I moved to the other side of the bar with the Lockheed contractors in disbelief.
... we've all done dumb things in our lives ... but man, that was just too much to be any part of. I share this because that was my last experience with any kilted men...
... no wonder why the sheep are scared ! lol ... jk !

ninja piper, its not as hard as it looks... think like this, have you ever pleated a traditional kilt? if you have then its easy to make your kilt... normal fabric length and width is different then traditional tartan length and width. Normal fabric, like what i used, is not made from wool but you can find it...
-measure out a 18" section for the begining of the kilt (no pleats), then pleat your waist size minus 18" (pin each pleat at the top and about three inches down), then add an 18" ending (no pleats)...
-when done with that measure the length of the material and cut a piece that is 3.5"'s wide and the length of the kilt plus 1/2"...
-take that piece ya just cut and hem the edges a 1/4" inch in...
-sew the kilt at the top and then 3" down from top and then in the middle...
-take the three inch by kilt length piece and then sew it to the kilt using the hem line as the guide...
-then add any buttons or fasteners you want...
thats the easy way of doing one, it may take more then once to make one... i suggest making small ones for the littles first and then go full size, thats what i did... hope this helps some.

Doesn't seem too difficult... but then again, installing drywall seems pretty straight forward too... I'm going to give it a shot for my son first. He's only 1 so it shouldn't take too much material.

An Irishman and a Scotsman walked into a pub. The Scotsman announced "Drinks for the house, on me!" The next morning newspaper's headline read "Irish ventriloquist found beaten to death behind pub"

Back to the wall was it Larry??
Thanks guys, you've given a Scotsman a good start to my day with your posts.
I have my own kilt and wear it for most formal functions, they're great.
The classic kilt picture of all time has to be the one at the rehearsal for the final lowering of the Union flag in Hong-kong when corporal Wotherspoon was wearing his tropical Kilt on a blustery day.
I've added the link so's you can see the real unedited pictures if you have the stomach for them!!! Not for those with a sensitive or nervous disposition! Canadian Bagpipe Links - Under the Kilt?
