It's a good idea to check your receipts anyway. People do make mistakes. My wife & I generally have an idea how much our bill is going to be, but still get a surprise once in a while, so started making a habit of going over the receipt before we leave the store. Doesn't happen very often, but once in a while see an item scanned for more than we thought, or when we have bought multiples of the same item, may find we were charged for more than what we bought. All honest mistakes & has nothing to do with this scam warning. ust a good idea to do it.

I know to almost the penny how much my purchase will be before I even get in the check-out line. I also carry cold hard cash so I don't have to worry about the plastic crap.
