Case Tumbling

is case tumbling really necessary for accuracy? if i loaded 30-06 with the same brass 9 times without case tumbling, would i get noticably worse groups than i would if i had tumbled the cases?
im just asking because i reload 30-06 for a savage 116 and want to get as much accuracy as i can, but im running very low on money and will be for awhile, so im trying to keep my list down to the absolute essentials

It won't affect accuracy at all unless your dies get worn from dirty cases. If you clean or at least wipe your cases before sizing, it'll never happen in our lifetime. FWIW, you can get excellent results using the Lee lock-stud and case holder in a drill and a dab of Nu-Finish or Turtle Wax polishing compound on a soft cloth. Nev'r Dull wadding is great as well. Just make sure you don't use any product containing ammonia to clean your cases.

Nope, the cases would have to be pretty far gone for a tumbling to affect accuracy.

But Grok still like shiny tings.

IT would also help if you used an old bore brush clamped into the chuck of a cordless drill to clean the inside of the case necks by running the brush in and out a couple of times I know my 6.5x55 hates build up inside the case necks and I have to do this on every reload session I have to maintain accuracy. For the outside of the cases I just use 0000 steel wool I just use my LEE case trim shell holder clamped into the chuck of my cordless drill and just run the steel wool over the case while the drill is spinning the case I think that damn drill spends more time cleaning and trimming cases than what it is actually intended for.

Dirty case damage chambers

I've heard but have not seen that over time dirty cases will damage your chambers. Especially in rifles due to the higher pressures they operate at. I guess the dirt on the out side of the case while under 30000 to 65000 psi will inbed into the chamber walls causing damage to brass and chamber. Too me this seems very plausable. Personally I like clean brass and clean guns including barrels, chambers, actions.
