Quail

I recently went Quail Hunting, and was at the spot I hunt on, the first day of the season. Unfortunately, my hunting buddies weren't able to join me because of work. So by myself, no dogs, in the desert, I attempted to chase tose little bugers around and around. One thing I did find out is that a Primo's Hawk Screamer would freeze them in their little tracks. If anyone else has some tips and tricks they would like to share, this would be a good thing. I always like to know what others have tried.....

Strongarm, around here our quail either run, orrr set like anvils, I've had to kick a piece of grass 3 times to get a bird I couldn't see to flush. (thank goodness for good dogs)
But after opening day our pheasants run like greyhounds, and often flush out of range, or never. If you wing one, you or a dog better be on him on the first bounce. I'm going to try that Hawk Screamer. You asked for a tip and I'm the one that got one. Thanks!
